Discernment in a Day of Doctrinal Danger

“Contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints…” Jude 3

I.  Preserving of the Winded SAINTS  (v. 24)

Jude closes his letter with one of the greatest ________ in the Bible.  cf.  Rom. 16:25-27; Eph. 3:20-21; 1 Th. 5 Jude highlights God’s ______________ work in salvation. All those who are truly saved will be preserved & protected until the End. cf. Jn. 6:37-40; 10:27-29; Rom. 8:30; Rom. 8:38-39; 1 Cor. 1:7-9; Phil. 1:6; 1 Pet. 1:3-5 Our salvation is not secure because we are able to persevere, but because God is “_______ ___ _______” us. cf.  Rom. 16:25; Eph. 3:20 “To Keep” is a military term meaning to ___________.

“God is preserving believers from escaping out of His Kingdom, and He is protecting them from eternal attacks.” Wayne Grudem

“To Make you Stand” means God will present or establish us before His glorious presence without _________.

NOTE – our standing will not only be “blameless,” but also “with great _______.”

II.  Praising of our Worthy SAVIOR   (v. 25)

Because God is able to keep us secure to the end, He is __________ to receive our praise & honor. There is ________ One God and Savior!  cf. Rom. 16:25-27

Meditate upon a Doxology of Praise:

  • Hebrews 13:20-21

Make as many observations as possible about what this doxology tells us about God.  Spend time praising God using this unique Scripture.

Friday, November 26th

Meditate upon God’s ability to Preserve us to the End:

  • 1 Corinthians 1:4-9

Notice the phrase “confirm you to the end.”  Spend time thanking God for His faithful protection and preservation of our faith firm until the End.

Saturday/Sunday, Nov. 27-28

Meditate upon God’s ability to Preserve us to the End:

  • 1 Peter 1:3-5

Notice the number of words and phrases that Peter uses to communicate the safety & security of our faith until the End.  Ask God for ways that you can encourage and build up the faith of another believer who might be struggling or faltering.
